From the View tab, Windows Group, click the Freeze Panes drop down arrow. Select either Freeze Top Row or Freeze First Column.
We can also use the shortcut keys, Alt +V+H to create header and footer. Headers and footers in Excel add a sense of organization to the soft documents. In Excel, we can add various options to be put up as header/footer text, such as Date, Time, Sheet Name, File Name, Page Number, Custom Text, etc.
Select the worksheet you want to add a header or footer to. Click the Insert tab, and click Header Footer. This displays the worksheet in Page Layout view. The Header Footer Tools Design tab appears, and by default, the cursor is in the center section of the header.
Go to Insert Header Footer. Excel displays the worksheet in Page Layout view. To add or edit a header or footer, select the left, center, or right header or footer text box at the top or the bottom of the worksheet page (under Header, or above Footer). Type the new header or footer text.
Open Page Setup - Header/Footer tab - Custom Header. Click in where you have edited the Header then OK. Header should now be applied to all sheets. If you have selected all sheets in the workbook then just click any other sheet tab to unselect all sheets.
Shortcut Keys to Italicize Text in Excel Similar to bolding text, you can italicize and underline text just fine without a keyboard shortcut, but the shortcuts make you faster and more productive. As with bolding, simply select one or more cells which you would like to be in italics, then hold Ctrl and press i.
On the status bar, click the Page Layout View button. Select the header or footer text you want to change. On the Home tab in the Font group, set the formatting options that you want to apply to the header / footer. When youre done, click the Normal view button on the status bar.
If you want to change the position of a preset option or add any custom text to a header or footer, click Edit Custom Fields. The print view on the right will change and allow you to edit the text boxes in the header or footer. Click a box to make any changes to your header or footer.
