As a general rule, higher power settings require larger font sizes. For example, smaller text (10pt) is much more legible on paper than is is on acrylic, as acrylic requires much higher power settings. We generally recommend using font sizes of 10pt and above for engraving and 12pt and above for scoring.
8 Best Fonts for Laser Cutting Arial Black. Arial Black is a bold, sans serif font that can be easily bridged for better laser cutting results. Sarina. Impact. Bree Serif. Lexend Semi-Bold. Phudu. Verdana. Barlow Condensed.
Best fonts for engraving Times New Roman: A standard serif font for print, inscriptions in this font are easy to read. Arial: A sans serif block letter option, Arial is softer than Times New Roman, but is still legible on smaller surfaces if you would like a more casual block option.
A serif font engraving can make a signet ring appear classic and authoritative. Its also easy to read and a great option for those wanting to engrave numbers. Recommended serif fonts: Garamond.
We always say, keep it simple! For engravings that are initials or dates we strongly recommend choosing one of the clearer fonts such as Garamond 3L or Roman 2L. On each product we give advice on placement and the maximum number of characters for engravings. Please try to follow our recommendations where possible.
Make sure engraving isnt too fine The laser cutter is able to engrave really very fine details, but if your engraving is too fine it may not even show up on the material. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend a minimum line width of 0.2mm or 0.5mm if inverted.
In recent years, skinny bands have become a popular choice, however, they leave little to no room for the engraver to work. We recommend rings that are no smaller than 3mm in width. This will help give us enough space to engrave your words with ease, however, 2mm width would be the minimum.
We typically recommend that the smallest that you go with most text is 12pt font. Anything smaller than this becomes tricky to read once engraved.
