If youve ever wanted to create a PDF form before, you probably found that you have to get docHub and it works pretty well, but it does also carry a hefty price tag of $15 per month. Today Im going to show you some free software that will allow you to create fillable forms. All right, well, lets jump on the computer and lets get started. To create a PDF form, were going to use an application called LibreOffice. You can get this at the website libraryoffice.org. Ive also included a link in the description of this video. You can just click on that and thatll bring you to this website. LibreOffice is kind of like Microsoft Office. It has a similar set of applications. If you cant type into a form field on a pdf, it may be due to a browsers default viewer for pdfs. Fillable forms require docHub or Acrobat Reader/Acrobat DC to fill them out online or on your computer. Many browsers use a different pdf viewer by default that doesnt support fillable form fields.
Make sure that the security settings allow form filling. (See File Properties Security.) Make sure that the PDF includes interactive, or fillable, form fields. Sometimes form creators forget to convert their PDFs to interactive forms, or they intentionally design a form you can only fill in by hand.
You can use docHub to add fillable forms to a PDF file. To do so, click the Tools tab in Acrobat and select Prepare Form. Browse to the file you want to make fillable, or follow the instructions to scan a paper document if you have a scanner.
Windows 10 does not have its own PDF editor. Microsoft Edge provides a PDF viewer but no PDF editor option. Another option for editing a PDF on this operating system is to convert the PDF into a Word file.
