You can click and drag to select multiple cells, or click on a column or row header to select the entire column or row. Step 2: Open the Format Menu. Go to the menu bar at the top of the screen. Step 3: Enter Custom Format. In the dialog box that appears, type 00000 into the input field. Step 4: Apply the Format.
The correct format for a numeric ZIP+4 code is five digits, a hyphen, and four digits. The first five digits represent the 5-digit ZIP Code; the sixth and seventh digits (the first two after the hyphen) identify an area known as a sector; the eighth and ninth digits identify a smaller area known as a segment.
The zip code is written at the end of the address, typically after the City and State. A zip code is always 5 digits. Zip+4 adds four digits to the five digits, and is not needed for a complete address. Zip codes are the postal code used by the US Postal Service.
What is a zip code? The first digit: this number refers to the national area, or defined group of states. The second and third digit: this set of numbers signifies a region within this group, such as a large city. The fourth and fifth digit: these numbers represent the associate post office or delivery area of a region.
Introduced on July 1, 1963, the basic format comprised five digits. In 1983, an extended code was introduced named ZIP+4 ; it included the five digits of the ZIP Code, followed by a hyphen and four digits that designated a more specific location.
With the document open, click Extensions | Code Blocks and then select Start from the menu. A new right sidebar will open (Figure A), where you can make use of the tool. Code Blocks is installed and ready to go. To use Code Blocks, write or paste your code in the document.
