The entire decoded file path, including the file name, cant contain more than 400 characters for OneDrive, OneDrive for work or school and SharePoint in Microsoft 365. The limit applies to the combination of the folder path and file name after decoding.
Multiline Text Fields allow just 255 characters in Microsoft Lists/SharePoint Online Lists. In SharePoint Online Document Libraries there is a allow unlimited length option (Reference MSFT Community). This option does not exist in Microsoft Lists/SharePoint Online Lists.
Add an empty choice in a SharePoint choice Column Go to the column drop down list in question. At the first entry on the list do a return to create a blank space. Inside that blank space place your cursor and press and hold down the ALT key while typing 0129 on the NUMERIC KEYPAD.
How to set choice field default blank value in SharePoint? To set the choice field to an empty value, simply clear the default value of the choice field in choice field settings. This makes the choice field default to blank value! It also allows the blank value in the Choice field.
The file path limit for OneDrive and SharePoint is 400 characters. The limit for a file or folder name is 255 characters.
First select + Add a new column or the + sign you can find between the columns. Both will work. Next, select the Multiple lines of text. Please be sure to select multiple lines of text and not single line of text, since it will enable us to store more than 255 characters.
You can assign a display limit to the Description column by changing the value under Number of lines for editing via List settings Description column Edit Column. Or you can remove the line limit by set Allow unlimited length in document libraries to Yes.
