Standard Titles The actual title will be typeset by issuing the command \maketitle . The layout is defined by the documentclass in use. The command \thanks will store content, which will produce a footnote along with the title.
The \title{..} command is used to specify a title for your document, where the title is entered in the curly brackets. The \author{..} and \date{..} commands are used to display information regarding the document authors name and the date of the document.
As noted above, one way to start a new paragraph is by inserting a blank line but the following code snippet shows an alternative solution which uses the \par command: This is text contained in the first paragraph. This is text contained in the first paragraph.
Its really easy, just add the \caption{Some caption} and inside the braces write the text to be shown. The placement of the caption depends on where you place the command; if its above the \includegraphics then the caption will be on top of it, if its below then the caption will also be set below the figure.
You can define a title for your document using \title{} and then create the title itself using \maketitle . You can also add other information such as the author(s) and the date, e.g. Note the use of \today to automatically insert the date you created the document. Of course you can just write a date if you prefer!
Inserting a New line within LaTeX Text In order to forcefully insert multiple new lines into a LaTeX document you would need to insert \\ multiple times at the end of line (see listing 1).
There are three commands here that work the same in the example: \\ (two backslashes) \newline. \hfill \break.
