If youre having trouble with the text tool in Photoshop, there are a few things you can try to fix the issue. First, make sure that the text layer is selected in the layers panel. If its not, then the text tool wont work on that layer. Second, check to see if the text layer is locked.
Introduction Locate and select the Type tool in the Tools panel. In the Control panel near the top of the screen, choose the desired font and text size. Click the Text Color picker, then choose the desired color from the dialog box. Click and drag anywhere in the document window to create a text box.

The simple answer is that by default, Photoshop locks text layers to prevent accidental changes. However, you can unlock a text layer by clicking on the Lock icon in the Layers panel. Once unlocked, you can then edit the text just like any other layer.
Edit text in an image To edit text on a type layer, select the type layer in the Layers panel and select the Horizontal or Vertical Type tool in the Tools panel.
