If you dont have many verses memorized, or you feel intimidated quoting the Bible to someone face-to-face, try texting a verse instead. Say, I read this verse this morning and thought it was powerful, or thinking of you as you deal with XYZ and share a verse you think would resonate with them.
Arguably, the most important color symbol in the Bible is red. As you know, red is the color of blood. In the New Testament, Jesuss sacrifice, often employs the imagery of blood (John 6:55, for example). Red also symbolizes atonement, sacrifice, life, death, and flesh.
Though not specifically spelled out prior to the giving of the Mosaic law on Mount Sinai, blood offerings for sin may have been implied herein. The red line of Christ, the sacrificed Lamb, begins. Out of the ashes of their punishment, Eve remembered and held dear the promise.
9 Best Practices for Annotating Your Bible Annotate in Your Bibles Margins. Create an Annotation System. Remember That If You Highlight Everything, You Highlight Nothing. Make Note of Context. Define Vocabulary. Write Your Questions Down. Make Your Annotations Personal. Leave Blank Space for Future Annotations.
This cord represented the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it pointed toward the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. In fact, all of the Bible is about Jesus Christ and His blood redemption, and you will find this scarlet thread throughout the Word of God.
Christianity hinges on the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We are saved by looking back to the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. In the Old Testament period, people were saved by looking forward to the cross which is symbolized by the shedding of blood, thus the Red Thread.
So we ask ourselves, What is the text saying? Using highlighters allows us to slow down in our reading in order to better answer this question. If we have a system in place, it can also be effective in helping us see the different themes woven throughout the Story of Scripture!
In that belief system, when someones born, there is a red thread that is tied to them, an invisible red thread that connects them to the people they are destined to meet and be connected to in their lives. Now, some folks take this as being a connection between parent and child.
