To create a text box in a publication page, click the "Draw a Text Box" button found in either the Objects group on the Home tab or the Text group on the Insert tab of the ribbon. This action transforms your mouse pointer into a black crosshair. Click and drag to define the area for your text box, then release the mouse button to create it. The blinking insertion marker will indicate where to type. After inserting the text box, two contextual format tabs will appear in the ribbon: the Drawing Tools Format tab and the Text Box Tools Format tab. Use the options in these tabs to format your text box as needed.
