DNS domain names. Allowed characters: DNS names can contain only alphabetic characters (A-Z), numeric characters (0-9), the minus sign (-), and the period (.).
A domain name consists of minimum two and maximum 63 characters. All letters from a to z, all numbers from 0 to 9 and a hyphen (-) are possible. A domain name mustnt consist of a hyphen (-) on the third and fourth position at the same time.
To add your domain with non-ASCII characters, youll need to add a Punycode version of your domain name, as special characters arent directly supported by DNS. Punycode is a special encoding used to convert Unicode characters to ASCII, which is a smaller, restricted character set.
Domain names can only use letters, numbers, the fada character (acute accent) and hyphens (-). Spaces and other symbols are not permitted for use. Names cannot begin or end with a hyphen and are not case sensitive. Domains cannot exceed 63 characters.
Do not use homophones. Homophones are words that have the same pronunciation as other words, but have different meaning and spelling. A couple of examples are right/write and break/brake. Unless it is very clear what your domain name should be, such words are likely to confuse your site visitors.
A domain name cannot contain more than 63 characters. A domain name is the system address at which Internet users can connect with the website.
RFC952. 1. A name (Net, Host, Gateway, or Domain name) is a text string up to 24 characters drawn from the alphabet (A-Z), digits (0-9), minus sign (-), and period (.). Note that periods are only allowed when they serve to delimit components of domain style names.
What is a domain name example? An example of a domain name is usps.com. This is made up of a second-level domain (usps) and top-level domain (.com).
