In this video Id like to show you how to insert a symbol in Microsoft Word. And this can be pretty useful when youre looking for a character, a graphic, or some type of image that isnt available on the keyboard. So let me show you what I mean. If I go to, actually first lets dial up this font so its easier for you to see, if I go to Insert and then Symbol notice first of all that I have a lot of symbols, some of these Ive used recently, some I have not. But they give me a lot of symbols here. Im going to go ahead and go to More Symbols. And then here we have a whole bunch of different symbols we can use. I like to use the mathematical operators for some of the work I do. Where just to show you briefly here, notice here theres a less than or equal sign, greater than equal sign, these arent symbols that I cant get from my keyboard. I cant get that equal part of the less than sign. So if I like a symbol, I want to select it, click Insert, and there you go. so heres my les

Insert ASCII or Unicode character codes in Word Go to Insert Symbol More Symbols. Find the symbol you want. Tip: The Segoe UI Symbol font has a very large collection of Unicode symbols to choose from. On the bottom right youll see Character code and from:.
In the menu bar, select Insert Special characters and the Special characters pop-up will appear. Find the symbol or accented letter to insert. You can scroll to find it or search for it using the search box. Select the desired character to insert it.

Create a symbol with a number pad. Examples include general symbols like ALT + 1, ☺, or ALT + 12, ♀. The system can also create accented letters such as ALT + 0193, , or general foreign characters, like ALT + 0223, . Some symbols, like ! @#$ require you to press and hold Shift while you press 1234.
I tried windows + spacebar and it worked for me, see if it helps! To get the AT symbol on a UK keyboard, you need to hold down the Alt key and type 0128 on the numeric keypad. On a UK keyboard, the @ symbol is typically accessed by pressing the Shift key simultaneously with the key located above the number 2.
