Yes, with limitations it is possible to embed video and audio files, provided they should be in SWF (Small Web Format) or FLV file. Unfortunately at present docHub Digital Edition is the known application that supports SWF embedded in EPUB.
Is EPUB or PDF better? EPUB is better than PDF for eBooks. PDFs may be better for printing and possibly graphically detailed eBooks such as childrens books or comic books, but EPUBs are designed to be reflowable, resizable, and reader-friendly.
An epub is just a zip file containing XHTML text files, images, and other resources. You can edit the XHTML files directly if you are a coder or know how to edit HTML. Even if you have no experience editing HTML you can still quickly make changes to your epub with a simple WYSIWYG editor called Sigil.
Find the EPUB document to which you want to add a page and click on it to open it. Once the document is open, click on the Insert Page button located in the toolbar at the top of the page. A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to choose the source of the page you want to insert.
You can open and read .EPUB files on both Windows and Mac devices if you download docHub Digital Editions to your computer. Open docHub Digital Editions on your machine. Select File, then Add to Library. Find the saved .EPUB file on your device. Double-click the .EPUB file you want to read.
The EPUB format is an open digital book (eBook) standard from the W3C. With Pages, you can export your documents in the EPUB format so they can be read using the Books app on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or with third-party EPUB readers.
Open your document in Pages. Choose File Export To, then choose EPUB. Click Next.
Save your files in a format such as HTML which can easily be converted. If you save a separate HTML file per chapter, youll automatically have chapter breaks in the resulting ePub file.
