The insert is normally the stretch of sequence between the paired-end adapters, so in your case the insert size would be 250 bp (2x75 bp reads + 100 bp unsequenced middle piece).
Subtract length of a read (For example 75 bp or 100 bp) from the mean to get insert size.
It is one type of vector used to clone DNA fragments (100- to 300-kb insert size; average, 150 kb) in E.
The DNA between adapter the sequences is the insert. The length of this sequence is known as the insert size (not to be confused with the inner distance between reads, see Figure 1). The resulting insert size is highly sensitive to the concentration of DNA used.
For Illumina systems DNA insert size range of 200–800 bp. It depends on the used Illumina system, the used reagents (kits) and the mode (single/paired end).
Insert size is the length of the DNA (or RNA) that you want to sequence and that is "inserted" between the adapters (so adapters excluded).
The insert is normally the stretch of sequence between the paired-end adapters, so in your case the insert size would be 250 bp (2x75 bp reads + 100 bp unsequenced middle piece).
Transpososomes are used to fragment DNA to be sequenced and add adapter sequences in a single step (known as tagmentation). The DNA between adapter the sequences is the insert. The length of this sequence is known as the insert size (not to be confused with the inner distance between reads, see Figure 1).
The insert is normally the stretch of sequence between the paired-end adapters, so in your case the insert size would be 250 bp (2x75 bp reads + 100 bp unsequenced middle piece).
Insert length is the length of the sequence in between a pair of reads. Sequencers are supplied DNA samples in fragments of a known length and each end is sequenced (generally in a 5′ to 3′ direction from both ends).
