Hey everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can create an electronic signature directly within Microsoft Word. Ill show you a few different techniques for creating your signature. They have different quality levels, and you could decide which one you think looks the best. Once we create our signature, Ill also show you a few ways that you can very quickly and easily then reuse your signature. One of them is by saving it as a transparent PNG, and then Ill also show you how we could use something called quick parts within Microsoft Word. One thing to call out before we jump into this, today were creating an electronic signature. Thats basically an image of your handwritten signature, and that differs from a digital signature, which is a certificate that validates your identity. Thats out of the scope today. All right, lets jump on the PC and lets create an electronic signature. Here I am in Microsoft Word, and I have a contract that I need to

To get a travel signature, make a request through Atlas at least two weeks before you plan to travel, and bring your I-20 to OIA. Travel signatures are valid for one calendar year or until the completion of your program, whichever comes first. Once you have returned to the U.S., be sure to check your I-94 information.
Getting a travel signature from an OGS advisor is easy. For current students, your travel signature is valid for 1 year (unless the end date on your I-20 or DS-2019 is sooner). For those on post-completion Optional Practical Training or Academic Training, it is valid for 6 months.
The travel signature is required for returning to the U.S. It is not required for leaving the U.S. If your current travel signature will expire before you will return to the U.S., you must request an updated travel signature.
Option 1: Go to the ISS office in person and drop off your most recent I-20/DS-2019 for our office to process your travel signature within 1 business day. Option 2: If you cannot come into the office in person, request a reprint of your document to receive a valid travel signature. Apply through Terra Dotta.
If you do not have a valid travel signature, you will likely be issued a Form I-515A by the U.S. Port-of-Entry officer. Since this is a temporary stay document that only allows 30 days stay in the U.S., it is very important that you contact OIS immediately upon arrival to fix your status to F-1 or J-1 D/S.
Open the Acrobat app and press the plus sign at the bottom of the screen. Choose the edit a PDF option and then navigate to the form you want. Touch the pencil icon at the bottom of the screen, then select Edit PDF. Fill in the form and touch Done at the top of the screen.
What happens if I try to enter the United States without a valid travel signature? If you arrive at a US port of entry without all the required documents, the customs officer may deny you entry into US. As an alternative, the officer may issue you an I-515A. This document allows you temporary admission into the US.
The signature confirms that you have valid F-1 or J-1 status. You must have a valid travel signature on your I-20 or DS-2019 to return to the U.S. after you travel abroad. Each signature is valid for one year.
