Electronic signatures or e-signatures are a method to indicate acceptance of an agreement or a document digitally. They usually come in the form of a digitized handwritten signature. You can create one either by scanning a pen-and-paper signature or writing your signature digitally in an application.
How to insert a handwritten signature in Word Write and take a photo of your signature. Save the photo to your computer. Crop the image. Save the photo as a new file. Click the Insert tab in Word. Choose and position your photo on the document.
Insert a signature line Click where you want the line. Click Insert Signature Line. Click Microsoft Office Signature Line. In the Signature Setup box, you can type a name in the Suggested signerbox. You can also add a title in the Suggested signers title box. Click OK. The signature line appears in your document.
Place the cursor where you want to create a signature line in your document. Go to the Insert tab. Select Signature Line in the Text group and select Microsoft Office Signature Line. In the dialog box, type the relevant information, including the signers full name, title, email address, and instructions.

However, if you are sending an email cover letter and resume, a signature isnt necessary.
Click where you want the line and click InsertSignature Line. In the Signature Setup box, you can type in your name and title. When you click on OK a Signature line appears in your document. Create a signature Open a new message. On the E-mail Signature tab, click New. Type a name for the signature, and then click OK. In the Edit signature box, type the text that you want to include in the signature.
Your full name should be placed just below the statement of declaration to the right-hand side of the page, with your signature placed just above it.
