Hi Im Michael, and I look after the pump program here at CSI. Last time we met we talked about the five things you need to know when youre selecting a pump. This time what were going to cover is how to choose the appropriate mechanical or shaft seal. We can all agree theres no magic bullet. Theres no one size fits all when it comes to shaft seal selection. But we can also agree that a pump is only as good as its mechanical seal. So with that in mind, lets talk a little bit about the types of seals that we commonly see here at CSI. We generally deal with customers that are in the hygienic liquid market. Which means food, dairy, beverage, biopharm, biotech. So were not really into power or petrochem. So if youre thinking about particular skills for those industries we wont talk about it much here. Most commonly we see either single o-ring, double o-ring, single mechanical, single mechanical with flush, which well talk a little bit about in a minute,
