Move the pointer over the top or bottom of the page until you see the three header or footer fields, then click the field you want to use (left, center, or right). in the toolbar, click the Document tab, then select the Header and Footer checkboxes). Click Insert Page Number, then choose a numbering style.
Include total number of pages in the page number Go to Insert Page Number. Do one of the following: Select Current Position if you have a header or footer. Scroll until you see Page X of Y and select a format. Select Close Header and Footer, or double-click anywhere outside the header or footer area.
Check one checkbox to include the total number of pages with the page number in your documents header or footer in Word for the web. If youre not already in Editing view, click Edit Document Edit in Word for the web. Click Insert Page Numbers. Check the Include Page Count box just above the gallery.

From the menu bar choose Edit Headers, Footers, Page Numbers Insert. The Header, Footer, Page Number dialog opens. From the Position menu, choose whether to put the page numbers at the top of the page in the header, or at the bottom of the page in the footer. Check the Page Numbering box to add page numbers.
Go to Insert Page Numbers. Select a position (left, center, or right, and header or footer). Select Include Page Count to show total number of pages too, such as page 7 of 9.
Adding Page Numbers to PDFs Open your PDF and click on the Edit PDF icon. from the tool list on the left. In the secondary toolbar at the top, click Header Footer then click on Add. In the dialog box that appears, select your desired settings for the position, style, and appearance of the page numbers. Click OK.
Open a Google Doc. In the top left, click Insert Page number. More options. Under Apply to, choose where you want to apply the page number change. Tip: If you dont find this option, add a section break. Learn how to add a section break. Click Apply.
