The proper place for the letterhead, therefore, is in the document header. Any text you put in a header appears on every page of the document, and you wont want the letterhead on your second sheets.
Use a plain piece of paper, of the same quality as the letterhead, for the second page (dont use the letterhead). The second page of a letter is referred to as a continuation page.
Second Pages page, the second and following pages have a one inch top margin and a header at the top that is left-aligned. That header includes the name of the person receiving the letter, the date, and the page number (in that order, on separate lines).
A two-page business letter is a formal letter from one person within a company, or a representative from a company to another company or individual. Just as with a one-page business letter, two-page business letters are designed to inform or instruct the reader.
It measures 8.5 by 11 inches (215.9 by 279.4 mm) and is similar in use to the A4 paper standard used by most other countries, defined in ISO 216 by the International Organization for Standardization.
The second page of a letter is referred to as a continuation page. Use the same margins you did on page 1. Use the same top margin as you did on page 1.
Letter Numbering Convention One may simply put the page number at the top-center of the page, while others may list the addressee at the top-left, the page number at the top-center and the date on the top-right.
To Format a Multiple Page Letter Properly Place a header containing the recipients name, date and page number on all subsequent pages one inch from page top. Go down three spaces or so from the page header on page two (or any other continuation sheet) and then continue your letter from the previous page.
