Reference list entries should be alphabetized by the first word of each entry. Use initials for authors first and middle names. If your reference extends past the first line, every line after should have a hanging indent; the equivalent of one tab space. Italicize the main title (of a book, journal, etc).
Including page numbers in a paraphrase citation Although APA 7th does not require page numbers when paraphrasing anothers work, you may choose to include page numbers particularly when dealing with a lengthy or complex document.
If you do have to add page numbers to the reference, here are a few tips to follow: Use p. nn to cite a single page. Use pp. nnnn to cite a range of pages. Print sources: place page numbers at the end of the citation for print sources. Online sources: place the page numbers before the URL or DOI.
Using In-text Citation For direct quotations, include the page number as well, for example: (Field, 2005, p. 14). For sources such as websites and e-books that have no page numbers, use a paragraph number, for example: (Field, 2005, para. 1).
To insert a citation in the text go to the References tab on the ribbon and click on Insert Citation and Add new source. Select the Type of source and fill in the boxes. Add all the citations to your document. When you have finished, go to the end of your document and click on the Bibliography option.
Create a bibliography, citations, and references Put your cursor at the end of the text you want to cite. Go to References Style, and choose a citation style. Select Insert Citation. Choose Add New Source and fill out the information about your source.
