As a Core Content Administrator, you can add retention settings to a document type. From the Core Content admin panel select data types, then select the document type you want to relate the retention policy to. Once you have selected the document type, you can select retention policies. In the retention policies field, choose your policy from the drop down or simply begin typing to be taken to the retention policy desired and save.
