Place the cursor in your document where you want to insert the field. From the Insert tab on the Ribbon, in the Text group, select Quick Parts and then select Field . In the Field dialog box, from the Field names list, select the field. You can filter this list by selecting Categories .

Create a Form Place the text cursor where you want to insert the form field. Click the Developer tab on the ribbon. Click the Design Mode button in the controls group. Go to Insert Header or Footer. Select Edit Header or Edit Footer. Select Quick Parts, and select Field. In the Field names list, choose the field you want (such as FileName, Date, Author, or Title), choose the format you want in the Field properties section.
To do this, open Microsoft Word, click in the text where you want to add a placeholder, navigate to Insert tab and select Quick Parts. Then select Field. Field Name has to correspond to a name of a property in the data object, that you want to apply to this document.
