With a glue stick, you can stick your zipper to the seam. Apply glue on each side of the zipper tape and carefully place the zipper on top of your seam, teeth down. The zipper coil should line up perfectly down the center of the seam. Press firmly, and let the glue set for a couple of minutes.
Steps Pin one side of the zipper face-down to the edge of a fabric piece. Stitch alongside the zipper teeth with a sewing machine with a zipper foot. Pin the other side of the zipper to the second piece of fabric. Sew along the length of the zippers fabric to attach the pieces.
Zip your jeans. and lay the fly flat on your ironing board. On the steam setting, press down firmly on the fly. When its nice and flat, add some spray starch and go over it again.
STEP-BY-STEP ZIP APPLICATION Measure and cut zip to size. Baste your fabric shut. Attach your zipper foot to your machine. Sew the zip into the fabric. Open up your seam.
This can be easily done with a steam iron. Start by pressing the zipper and the fabric around it with the steam iron. Then, pull on the fabric on the front of the hoodie so that its the same length as the zipper. As youre pulling on the fabric, press it with the steam iron.
If the bulge is from shrunk fabric, you may be able to gently soak your garment in warm water for half an hour and let your clothes air dry on a flat surface. In more severe situations, you may need to replace the entire zipper.
To fix your loose zipper, you can use a small metal key ring, about the size of a penny. Look for a key ring that is thin and durable. You can also use a small rubber band if you are looking for a flexible option. A rubber band can be good if your zipper tends to unzip itself and get stuck mid way on the zipper.
