In the Customer dropdown, select the customer. In the Outstanding Transactions section, select the open invoice you want to apply the credit note to. In the Credits section, select the credit notes you want to apply. For the open invoice in the Payment column, enter how much of the credit you want to apply.
Applying a credit memo Click the Plus (+) icon and select Credit Memo. Choose the customer name. Enter the Credit Memo Date. Fill in the necessary information. Click Save and close.
Information to include. The words credit note at the top. Customer information. Your business information. Date issued. Credit note number. Original invoice reference number. Item descriptions, quantities, and prices. Total amount credited.
Heres how: On the dashboard, click on the Receive Payments icon. In the Customer Payment window, choose the customer on the Receive From box. Tick the box on the specific invoice, then select the Discount Credits button. Check the credit that you are going to apply and click Done. Hit Save and Close.
Apply a Credit Memo on an Open Invoice Go to Transactions Sales Create Invoices List (Administrator). Click View next to the invoice you want to credit. Click Credit. Fill in the necessary information for the Credit Memo. For details, read Issuing a Customer Credit Memo.
From the QuickBooks Online dashboard, click on the + New button at the top of the left menu bar, and then select Credit card credit in the second column, Vendors, as shown below. Hover over Accounting in the left menu bar, and then select Chart of accounts from the pop-up menu.
Record a Bill Credit for the returned items: Go to the Vendors menu, then select Enter Bills. Select the Credit radio button to account for the return of goods. Enter the Vendor name. Select the Items Tab. Enter the returned items with the same amounts as the refund check. Select Save Close.
