how to create gradients in docHub Illustrator first select your text go to the properties panel and give this a fill color and at this point you will have realized that it does absolutely nothing hey want your gradient little girl okay demented kittens aside there is a way around this go to window and select appearance and from the bottom of this panel add a new fill click the drop down for the fill color and then again select that black to white gradient and hooray it works well sort of because we get this weird halo effect around the edge but again there is a fix for this so again please stay with me before you do anything set the fill color to none that is the secret step then you can add the fill select the gradient and there is no Halo underneath there we go nice clean gradient text then from the gradient panel if you open that one up you can apply your own colors to the white and black swatches at either end until you have a gradient that actually works and also looks good nice on
