[Music] hey guys welcome back to another techguru video today I have a video that is requested by a bunch of different people over the past few months how do you add or remove headers and footers within Apples pages if you dont know what Apples Pages is its just like Microsoft Word but for Apple so you can export to Microsoft Word files but anyways Im not gonna get into that Im gonna show you how to add or remove header or footer so the first thing you need to do is once you open up Pages youre gonna see this little gear icon in the upper right hand corner if you click on that you will see something here that shows the document settings with the margins and then youll see something that says section and this is gonna be where your header and footer stuff is going to be so thats thats going to be where all of that is there now this is the newest version of pages yours may look different it may say something like inspector click on inspector and then go over here and look for

To use and see headers and footers, make sure your document is in pages format. Open a document in the Google Docs app. Tap Edit . In the top right, tap More . Turn on Print Layout. Tap the header or footer. Type the text you want in your header or footer.
Create different headers or footers Double-click the header or footer. Select Different Odd Even Pages. On one of the odd pages, select the header or footer area you want to change. Type the document title, and then press Tab twice. Select Page Number Current Position and choose a style. Select an even page.
On the Insert tab, in the Header Footer group, click Header or Footer. On the View menu, click Master Page. In the Edit Master Pages task pane, click the arrow next to the single master page where you want to create facing headers and footers, and then click Show Header/Footer.
Now highlight the page number at which you want to start the numbering. From the Header Footer Tools menu, unclick Link to Previous. With the number still highlighted, choose Page Number from the top menu, then select Format Page Numbers. Under Page Numbering, choose Start At and then select a starting number.

Add page numbers in Pages on iPad Tap. Make sure Headers or Footers are turned on, then tap More Options at the bottom of the controls. In Document Setup, use two fingers to zoom, then tap the header or footer field where you want the page number to appear. Tap Page Numbers, then tap a numbering style.
Add headers and footers If you still dont see the header or footer area, click Document in the toolbar, click Document, then make sure the Header and Footer checkboxes are selected. Enter your text and page numbers (optional).
Change a header or footer on another single page Click or tap where you want to start a new page without the header or footer. Go to Layout Breaks Next Page to create a section break. Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header Footer tab.
Hide all headers or footers in the document , tap Document Options, then tap Document Setup. Turn off Headers and Footers. In a word processing document, you may need to tap the Document tab at the top of the screen to see these controls.
