This video tutorial demonstrates how to add a line in the header and footer of a Word document. To add a line in the header, double click inside the header region, go to the design tab, click on the page border option, select the border style, color, and thickness, then click ok. To add a line in the footer, double click inside the footer area, go to the design tab, click on page border, select border style, color, and width, and click the first box to add the line.

Although the Header Footer dialog in Acrobat will only place text, you can add the ruled line by making a blank page (e.g. in Word) with nothing except the line, saving it to PDF then adding it to the file using the Add Watermark tool. If necessary you can nudge the position so it aligns with the page.

Open the PDF document that you would like to edit. On the right-hand side of Acrobat, click Edit PDF. Located on the center of the top edit toolbar, click Header and Footer. If a Header or Footer exists, click Update otherwise click Add. When finished with the Header or Footer, click OK to save the changes.
Use the following steps to draw a line in your PDF using docHub. In Acrobat, Click the Tools tab, then click Comment. Click the Drawing Tools and select Line. From here, you can go to your document and draw a line. To make your line straight, press the Shift key and draw your line.
