hello my name is Josiah ray Im going to show you how to insert your file name into the footer of a Microsoft Word document so Ive got this document over open here and its got a lot of placeholder text in it but youll see at the very top its Josiah document is the name of the document to get to the footer Im going to go ahead and click on insert and well go to footer and the very bottom edit footer so to insert the file name were going to go through a special place to access the field property for it were going to go to quick parts field and underneath the field names Im going to scroll down and locate the file name and then youve got some cool stuff that you can do with the formatting Ill go to title case which means basically the first letter of each word is capitalized unless its an article or something well say ok and there you go its actually capitalized correctly and all of that inside the footer will close the footer and now inside of our document we have the file

Go to Document > Header and Footer and click on the Options tab. The default starting page number is 1; overtype this with the number you want and click OK.

Automatic Scene Numbers in Final Draft 10 To add scene numbers, go to “Production – Scene Numbers”. Choose the element you want to add numbering to, in this case that's “Scenes”. You have two choices of numbering available here, please check with your production department which of the two they want to use.
Headers are located in the margin area at the top of the page. Footers are located in the margin area at the bottom of a page. Headers and footers generally contain document information, such as the file name, author, date created, page numbering and the like.
Go to Document > Header and Footer. Type your information into the header where you want it to show on the page. Note that this information will appear on every page of the script. If you need custom information for a particular section of the script (i.e. act or scene number) you should use a label.
After you open Final Draft and you're into your document: Click on document at the top of the page. Click on header and footer. You will be on the header function.
Pages should be numbered in the top right corner, flush to the right margin, a half-inch from the top of the page. Numbers should be followed by a period. The first page is not numbered.
If you need to change any of the attributes of any of the elements that comprise a script, go to Format > Elements (Mac) or Format > Element Settings (Windows). Here you will find controls and settings for each element (Scene Heading, Character Name, Dialogue, etc.).
Place the blinking cursor at the very top of the next page on which a new scene or act and scene begins, go to Insert > Label and type in the appropriate act and scene information; 11. Repeat this process until all pages are labeled correctly with act and scene information.
Final Draft Go to Production > Scene Numbers; Check Number/Renumber; Select the element you want to number (Shot, in this example); Click OK.
