Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today I want to show you how you can create your very own fillable form using Microsoft Word. First off, what is a fillable form? You can have people go in and fill out a form, but they wont be able to edit the questions or the structure of the form. You can use things like check boxes, text fields, drop down lists, date pickers, to build your form. Once someones finished completing your form, they can e-mail it back, they could print it out, or you could even connect it to a database. Connecting to a database is outside of the scope of todays tutorial. Its kind of like an docHub PDF form, but its Microsofts version of it. Ive included sample files today if you want to follow along, otherwise lets jump on the PC and lets get started. Make sure that the security settings allow form filling. (See File Properties Security.) Make sure that the PDF includes interactive, or fillable, form fields. Sometimes form creators forget to convert their PDFs to interactive forms, or they intentionally design a form you can only fill in by hand.
To create an interactive form, use the Prepare Forms tool. See Create a form from an existing document. To enable the Fill Sign tools, choose File Save As Other Reader Extended PDF Enable More Tools (includes Form Fill-in Save). The tools are enabled for the current form only.
Start a new form Sign in to Microsoft 365 with your school or work credentials. Open the Excel workbook in which you want to insert a form. Select Insert Forms New Form. A new tab for Microsoft Forms will open in your web browser. Select the placeholder default title and change with your own.
How to create fillable PDF forms with Acrobat. Open Acrobat. Click on the Tools tab and select Prepare Form. Select a file or scan a document. Acrobat will automatically analyze your document and add form fields. Add new form fields. Save your fillable PDF.
Click on the menu button (hamburger button) in the top right of the browser. Click on Options. Scroll down to Applications. Under Content Type, click on Portable Document Format. Choose Use docHub Reader DC from the dropdown list. Click on the form link.
How to create fillable PDF files: Open Acrobat: Click on the Tools tab and select Prepare Form. Select a file or scan a document: Acrobat will automatically analyze your document and add form fields. Add new form fields: Use the top toolbar and adjust the layout using tools in the right pane. Save your fillable PDF:
To design an Outlook form On the Developer tab, in the Custom Forms group, click Design a Form, and then select the standard form on which to base your custom form. Add the fields, controls, and code that you want to your new form. Set form attributes for the custom form. Publish the form.
This can be done by following the steps below: Open the PDF document in docHub. Select the Prepare Form tool. Select the form field(s) to unlock. Open the form field properties window. Uncheck Locked checkbox in bottom-left corner. Uncheck Read Only checkbox. Re-check Locked checkbox and select Close
