Before creating validation rules, review the Validation Rule Considerations. From the management settings for the relevant object, go to Validation Rules. In the Validation Rules related list, click New. Enter the properties of your validation rule. To check your formula for errors, click Check Syntax.
To ensure that the user enters a value in a field before submitting the form, set the field as Required: In the view configuration window, on the Fields tab, locate the field that you want to set as Required. In the Options list, select Required. Click Submit.
Click on the gear icon then Setup Object Manager. Choose the object Validation Rules. Click on New. Enter a Rule Name. Enter an Error Condition Formula, you can use ISBLANK or ISNULL to check that the field is not empty. Enter an Error Message. Select an Error Location. Click on Save.
Validation Rule From Setup, open the Object Manager and click Account object. In the left sidebar, click Validation Rules. Click New. Enter the required properties for your validation rule. Provide Error message to be displayed. Click Check Syntax to check the formula used. Click Save to finish.

Create validation rule in Salesforce Classic Click Setup. Click Customize | [the object you need to modify] | Validation Rules. Click New. Enter the Validation Rule name. Set the Validation Formula as per the suggestion above, feel free to adapt to your needs. Set the error message that the User will receive.
In your Salesforce Setup page, go to Object and Fields - Object Manager. Select the Object that you want to edit. Select Page Layout page and choose the Page Layout you want to edit. On the Page Layout editor, double click the Custom field and check the checkbox to mark it as Required.
Under Objects and Fields, go to Object Manager. Click the object that is producing the error. Click Validation Rules. Click on the validation that the TIBCO Scribe error indicates. In the Validation Rule Detail section, go to the Error Condition Formula field. Add the following snippet of code highlighted in red below.
Create a field validation rule Select the field that you want to validate. On the Fields tab, in the Field Validation group, click Validation, and then click Field Validation Rule. Use the Expression Builder to create the rule.
Make a field mandatory. Change the field label or hint. Delete a field from a table. Add users to a watch list. Configure email notifications for watch lists. Hide email addresses in a watch list. Highlight list fields. Modify string field length. Specify a default field value. Make a field dependent.
