It can take 1-2 business days before your DUNS Number is issued. When you are assigned your DUNS Number, return to SAM.gov and follow the steps outlined under the Your entity has a DUNS Number and is not registered in SAM.gov section of this guide.
How long does it take to get my entity validated? Actual time can vary for many reasons. On average, most entities submitted renewal is active after 10 business days. But you must plan for entity validation as part of the process - so when you begin may be earlier than in the past.
Find Your Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) While the UEI is assigned by and viewable within SAM, Grants.gov users can also find it listed under their organization profile in Grants.gov. If you currently manage awards in JustGrants, you can view your UEI by opening the Entity Profile tab in JustGrants.
The UEI will identify the unique entity registered in SAM, like the DUNS number does today. There can be a many-to-one relationship (UEI to EIN), as there is today with multiple locations of an entity each assigned a DUNS number and sharing the same EIN.
The Unique Entity ID is generated in SAM.gov. If you are registered in SAM.gov (active or not), you already have a Unique Entity ID. It is viewable at SAM.gov. If you are new to SAM.gov and will be registering for the first time, you will get your Unique Entity ID (SAM) during registration.
SAM.gov uses an entity validation service (EVS) to independently verify the existence and uniqueness of an entity. ● Validation is required when you. ○ register an entity. ○ renew your entity registration each year.
It normally takes up to two business days to get a UEI from SAM.gov. However, we recommend you begin the process right away, in case of unexpected delays.
Log into your account on the SAM homepage. Once logged in, select Entity Registrations from the My SAM sub-navigation menu to create, update, renew, or deactivate your entity registration.
