Jira application issues are made up of fields. You can choose any number of fields to appear when creating, editing, or transitioning issues. You can also create custom fields for teams working on issues within any of your Jira projects. Custom fields allow people to add information specific to your teams needs.
Go to Settings ( ) Products Jira Service Management Configuration. Under Customize your help center, youll see a list of customization options available to you. Choose the relevant option, make changes and select Save changes.

To create a custom field: In the upper-right corner of the screen, select Administration Issues. Under Fields (the left-side panel), select Custom fields. Select Add custom field. In the Select a field type modal dialog, select All to make sure you can see all available field types.
Still need help? Select Issues. Under FIELDS, click Custom fields. Find the custom field and click Associate to Screens. Check the screens on which you want to display this custom field. To add more screens or remove screens, click a fields screens link and then click Screens Add or remove associated screens.
Edit a field description Select Issues. In the Fields section, click Field configurations. Click Configure next to the field configuration you wish to edit. Click Edit next to the field you want to update. Enter a new description and click Update.
To add fields to a request type: From your service project, go to Project settings , and then Request types. Select the request type you want to customize. Select Issue view or Request form, depending on where you want to make the field available.
You need to be a Jira administrator to create a new custom field.Add a new custom field for approvals Go to Settings ( ) Issues. Select Custom fields Create custom field. Select Advanced. Select Next. Name your field, and add a description if desired. Select Create.
