hello everyone welcome to the video in this video ill be showing you how to add a custom field onto the gift entry template form now if youre not familiar with the gift entry feature within salesforce its available in the non-profit success pack now what this does it allows a user to submit log entries on donations now you can do this in batches rather than go into accounts or a donation object and just keep on repeatedly clicking on new all the time so to begin with um im just going to show you um what it looks like so this is where you configure the form fields now as you can see these are the objects and they have fields now i do want to add a field now in order to do that you need to create a corresponding field and map him so just to show you uh what field so i already created a custom field within the account object so as you can see this pick list right over here source of donation so im going to have to create an identical custom field but within a different object so im

Edit the Default Gift Entry Template Click the Templates tab in Gift Entry. Select Default Gift Entry Template from the table. Click Next: Form Fields. In the Configure Form Fields area, select the Donation Information section. In the Form Fields menu, select Opportunity then select the field we created, Source Code.
Formatting an Excel Mail Merge Field Select the field, such as Amount, as shown in this example. Press [Alt] + F9 to reveal the field coding. Edit the field by simply inserting a numeric switch code to the end of the field. Press [Alt] + F9 again.
Create a custom field in Project In Grid view, select Add column New field. Choose a field Type: Important: A custom fields type cannot be changed after its created. If a custom field is the wrong type, delete the field, then create it again using the correct type. Enter a Field name, then select Create.
In Salesforce, click the App Launcher ( ) and find and select Gift Entry. Click New Single Gift. Enter your donation details. Select the appropriate Payment Method, either ACH or Credit Card.
Change the Single Gift Entry Form Layout Click. Click the Object Manager tab. In the list of objects, click Opportunity. Click Page Layouts. Click Single Gift Entry Customization. Drag a Section from the palette to below the section marked DO NOT EDIT. Now drag fields into the sections you just created. Click Save.
Add Custom Fields Click the gear icon. and select Setup. This launches Setup in a new tab. Click the Object Manager tab. From the list of objects in the dropdown, click Suggestion. Click the Fields Relationships section. Click New.
A merge field is where you want to insert the information from a data source into a main document. Merge fields appear with chevrons ( ) around them. An example would be: Dear FirstName. A group of merge fields that make up an address in a mail merge document.
Add individual merge fields Click or tap where you want the merge field. Choose the down-arrow under Insert Merge Field, and select a field. If you dont see your field name in the list, choose Insert Merge Field. Choose Database Fields to see the list of fields that are in your data source. Choose Insert.
