The most universal way to support a point is to provide a reference to a source which backs it up: either someone who agrees with you, or evidence that supports you. As your studies progress, this strategy may need to become more in depth, perhaps referencing multiple sources or commenting critically on them.
If youre leading into evidence directly, try phrases like: ing to The text says Researchers have learned For example [Authors name] writes
Evidence appears in essays in the form of quotations and paraphrasing. Both forms of evidence must be cited in your text. Citing evidence means distinguishing other writers information from your own ideas and giving credit to your sources. There are plenty of general ways to do citations.
There are three main ways to integrate evidence from sources into your writing: quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing. Each form requires a citation because you are using another persons words and/or ideas.
How to admit exhibits into evidence at a trial Show your exhibit to the other side and mark it. Have your witness identify your exhibits. Show the witness has first-hand knowledge of the exhibit. Ask the judge to admit the exhibit as evidence.
There are many ways to present your evidence. Often, your evidence will be included as text in the body of your paper, as a quotation, paraphrase, or summary. Sometimes you might include graphs, charts, or tables; excerpts from an interview; or photographs or illustrations with accompanying captions.
In order to use evidence effectively, you need to integrate it smoothly into your essay by following this pattern: State your claim. Give your evidence, remembering to relate it to the claim. Comment on the evidence to show how it supports the claim.
Supporting evidence can include personal narratives (i.e. stories), examples, and anecdotes. We find that most people do not have a problem coming up with stories that provide supporting evidence; rather, they have a problem weaving their narrative or examples effectively into their essay.
How Do I Use Evidence? Make sure your evidence is appropriate to the paper you are writing. Make sure the evidence does, in fact, support your argument or your claims. Tell your reader why this evidence supports your argument/claims. Make sure you have an appropriate amount of evidence.
The phrase a supporting evidence is correct and usable in written English. You can use it when referring to evidence that helps to support a particular argument or point of view. For example, This graph represents a supporting evidence for the proposed policy change..
