Open the table in Design View. In the upper section of the design grid, select the Number field you want to format. In the lower section, click the Format property box, and then enter this custom format: A.D. #;# B.C.
Generally, you should use the Format Cells dialog (Ctrl+1) or Home Number Accounting Number Format option to apply a currency formatting to a cell. This is because the DOLLAR function returns the number provided as text.
Select the cells that you want to format and then, in the Number group on the Home tab, click the down arrow in the Number Format box. Choose either Currency or Accounting.

Steps to Apply Currency Format Using Keyboard Shortcut Once selected, simply press the Ctrl + Shift + $ keys together and you will get the number format converted to currency format by adding the currency symbol at the beginning of the numbers in each selected cell.
