The Euro is the official currency of Germany and Austria. The symbol for the Euro is , and it is often placed after the number, unlike the pound sign - - which is placed before the number.
1. Using the Alt keyboard shortcut to add the euro symbol: Place the cursor where you want the euro sign to appear. On the numeric keyboard, hold down Alt while pressing 0128. Use the numeric keypads NumLock button if the sequence doesnt work.
Insert Euro Sign as Symbol Double-click a cell where you want to insert a euro sign (C2), and in the Ribbon, go to Insert Symbol. Note: If you just select a cell and insert a symbol, its automatically added to the end of that cells value (here, 70).
Hold down Alt + Ctrl + 4 key in the top row of the alphanumeric section of the keyboard. (NB: NOT on the numeric keypad to the right). Hold down the Alt Gr key and press the 4 key in the top row of the alphanumeric section of the keyboard (NB: NOT on the numeric keypad to the right).
To type the euro symbol () on a Windows PC, hold down the Alt key and type 0 + 1 + 2 + 8 . (Type the numbers one after the other, without holding them down. For this key combination to work, you need to use the number pad with NumLock enabled.)
