The best way to put a picture on a headstone is to have the photo digitized and then used to create a ceramic photo tile, which can be attached to the monument. Ceramic photos are created by using special toner on an Italian porcelain tile, then fired in a kiln at 1600 degrees Fahrenheit.
Using a sandblast process, each character is engraved to a specific depth, which is usually based on the depth of the existing lettering, which again, ensures the new lettering looks as close to the original as possible. When the sandblast work is finished, each character is again inspected for consistency.
There is a saying, memories will never fade. Indeed, headstones are doing the same job. Here, images are playing a pivotal role to personalize the memorial design. It will last for the upcoming years if it is etched or engraved properly.
Ceramic photos When the photo tile is done, it can be fastened to the stone with a bead of caulk and adhesive. This will not only keep the photo firmly attached to the gravestone for many decades to come, but it will also allow you to replace it easily should it ever fall off or break.
This could include things like: A list of their relationships with some of their loved ones (e.g. mother, daughter, friend) A few words about their life. A verse or phrase from a particular text, especially one that was important to them. A message from their loved ones to the person reading the headstone.
Double sided tape is used between the vase and the memorial. The tape requires a polished surface on the granite and the high-strength tape requires 100 lbs. of force to break the seal. Weatherproof, easy to mount, and permanent.
How long do laser-etched headstones last? Laser-etched monuments last a lifetime if theyre performed on high-quality granite. Laser etching draws images and text directly onto the surface of the stone, which means the etching will last as long as the stone itself does.
You can either ask your memorial specialists to directly etch your favorite photo into the granite via laser or the diamond-etched method. It can also be permanently transferred into porcelain to preserve the color and the images integrity and set into the granite with a permanent adhesive.
