Just different. Finally, some Excel shortcuts are just plain different on a Mac. For example, the shortcut for Edit Cell in Windows is F2, and on a Mac, its Control + U. The shortcut to toggle absolute and relative references is F4 in Windows, while on a Mac, its Command T.
The insert key usually sits in a block of keys between the main keyboard and a numeric keypad near the page up and page down keys. Its usually labeled Insert or Ins. When pressed, the Insert key turns on overwrite mode.
The insert function can be recreated on a macOS system by clicking on Fn and Enter.
On most Mac keyboards, the Fn key is in the lower-left corner. The exception is the full-size Apple desktop keyboard (the one with a numeric keypad); there, the Fn key is in the little block of keys between the letter keys and the number pad.
