hello everyone Mike repple here from another set of eyes and I hope youre having a great day and its time for todays blog post this is a great one I think its gonna take a little bit and its a little complicated but it started out it was initiated by a response to a request on a users group in LinkedIn and someone put a link to a video of a Dueling podcast between mr. Excel Bill Gellin and Mike Gervin Excel is fun as a matter of fact Ill put a link to that video down below so you can watch it directly but I thought I would kind of do my own version of it and hopefully with all those that see this well get a chance to possibly use it in their day to day work or some function that they may have that could be useful heres the process I have basically a data here of a compilation of photos and the names that I want to call those photos in this case I only have four you can have many more than that and what I want to do is in my catalog here Im gonna put a drop down box and have t

Select a cell where you want to create the drop down list (cell C2 in this example). Go to Data Data Tools Data Validation. In the Data Validation dialogue box, within the Settings tab, select List as the Validation criteria. As soon as you select List, the source field appears.

Working with your drop-down list Select the cells that have the drop-down list. Go to Data Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box. Then do one of the following: If the Source box contains drop-down entries separated by commas, then type new entries or remove ones you dont need.
In the Data Validation dialog box, under the Settings tab, choose List from the Allow drop down list, and then select the cell values that you want to create the drop down list under Source section, see screenshot: 4.
Select a cell where you want a drop-down list. Click the DATA tab, and click Data Validation. In the Data Validation dialog, set Allow to List; this enables a list in the cell. Leave In-cell drop-down selected; this enables a drop-down list in the cell.
