You cannot create and edit MOBI files any more. Before the MOBI format was discontinued, authors were able to create and edit MOBI files in various eBook software like Calibre and Kindle Create. Today, if you want to edit an eBook that has been created in the MOBI format, you will first need to convert it.
On the web, go to Amazons Send to Kindle page. Drag and drop your file to the large square area, or click on Select files from device and choose the file you want to send. (The maximum file size is 200MB.) There will be a list of supported file types on the page including PDF, DOCX, and ePub, among others.
Scroll down to the File Sharing section on the Apps tab. Click on Kindle in the Apps list. Click the Add button just below the Documents list to the right. Navigate to the MOBI file you wish to add to the Kindle app and click the Choose button.
Dont forget to save a copy as you go along! To change the cover of your book, go back to your calibre library. Right-click on the book. Then choose Edit metadata and Edit metadata individually. Edit the new title and author, and then click Generate Cover. (Make sure to click OK so you know its saved.)
MOBI is an older file format and wont support the newest Kindle features for documents. Any MOBI documents already in your library that you want to read with our most up-to-date features for documents will need to be re-sent in a compatible format, such as EPUB (. epub).
You can either connect to wifi or change the setting on your phone. go to your Kindle apps menu then press Sync. If pressing Sync does not work, and you still do not see the . mobi file, restart your Android and check the kindle app again.
Editing the metadata of one book at a time. Click the book you want to edit and then click the Edit metadata button or press the E key. A dialog opens that allows you to edit all aspects of the metadata. It has various features to make editing faster and more efficient.
On your computer, the Kindles hard drive should be mounted and displayed as KINDLE Drag and drop the . mobi eBook file into either the Books or Documents folder on your Kindle. Dismount the Kindle from your computer: choose Safely Remove Mass Storage Device (Windows) or Eject (Mac)
