okay letamp;#39;s format this text or a resume the first thing Iamp;#39;m going to do is make a column a little bit narrower this is usually a narrow column and I want to do sort of a hanging indent so that these dashes are all the same but the text follows this indent here and could actually choose to put the second or third or however many lines in a bit more we can do that all in the paragraph palette the first thing Iamp;#39;m going to do is uncheck the hyphenate box just to make sure I donamp;#39;t actually accidentally get hyphenation which is pretty bad news and a list like this and then going to add a space after with dis box here so the number of this is going to vary depending on your type size understanding default 12-point type and 14 for letting so if youamp;#39;re using smaller type this is going to be a smaller number but visually I like the way this looks Iamp;#39;m then going to increase the entire left indent so this is a lesson in of all the lines at once Iamp

First-line indent by default On the Home tab, right-click the Normal style, and choose Modify. Select Format, and then choose Paragraph. On the Indents and Spacing tab, under Indentation, select First line. Select OK.
Here are various ways to add indentation in Markdown: Using four spaces. Using Tab. Using (greater than) Using nbsp; or ensp;
To automatically indent lines using the vi editor, set the autoindent flag: If you are currently in insert or append mode, press Esc . Press : (the colon). The cursor should reappear at the lower left corner of the screen beside a colon prompt. Enter the following command: set autoindent.
Use the greater than sign () followed by a space, for example: Text that will be indented when the Markdown is rendered. Any subsequent text is indented until the next carriage return.
Type nbsp to add a single space. Type ensp to add 2 spaces. Type emsp to add 4 spaces. You can use non-breaking space ( nbsp ) 4 times to insert a tab.
Basically, every nbsp; in your Markdown source will be replaced with a space in the rendered output. So if you stick four instances of nbsp; before a paragraph, the paragraph will look like its indented four spaces. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;This is the first sentence of my indented paragraph.
You can keep or remove the indent of specific paragraphs manually, by adding \indent and \noindent at the beginning of the paragraph in the markdown source. These are LaTeX commands but will work with HTML output too.
To indent the current line, or a visual block: ctrl-t, ctrl-d - indent current line forward, backwards (insert mode) visual or - indent block by sw (repeat with . ) then try hitting the F5 key while in insert mode (or just :set paste ).
