You must be using Google Sheets and youre trying to figure out how to put a little pop-up calendar inside a cell just like this one. Its not real straightforward how you get it in there so were going to go through a set of steps to show you how. You may be trying to gather dates from your users and youre trying to make it easier for them and/or avoid the mistakes of them typing in dates wrong so theyre not really valid dates. If you have someone coming in and typing the date wrong, this isnt going to work. One way around that is to give your user a pop-up calendar. If you have all of your fields like this if you double click with the left mouse button, you get the calendar to pop up. They cant really make a mistake now so if you pick August 14, 2017, it puts that date in there and you know its valid because it came from the calendar. The way that you do this is you select the cell where you want the pop up calendar and you go to Data, Data validation. This is under the data va

Date Format: Show only Day Select the date, then go to Format Cells Custom, and enter one of these formats: dddd, ddd, dd, d. In this example, the cell value is still the date March 12, 2020, but it is displayed as the number 12.
Do one of the following: To insert the date, type the date (like 2/2), and then click Home Number Format dropdown (in the Number tab) Short Date or Long Date. To insert the time, type the time, and then click Home Number Format dropdown (in the Number tab) Time.
How to Sort by Date in Google Sheets Using Filters Go to your Google Sheet. Select the column/s youd like to sort by date. Go to Data and click on Create a Filter. Click on the filter icon (top right in the header cell of the date column) Choose Sort A Z (latest date last) or Sort Z A (latest date first)

Sometimes when we want to display the current date and time in a worksheet, we can use the NOW function. The date and time will update whenever the worksheet is recalculated or opened. To do that, we need to just insert the formula =NOW() in the cell where the current date and time should appear.
