Click the Data tab. Under Default Value, click Insert Formula . In the Insert Formula dialog box, click Insert Function. In the Categories list in the Insert Function dialog box, click Date and Time.
Insert a date that updates automatically On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Date Time. In the Date and time dialog box, select the format you want. Select the Update automatically check box. The date is inserted as a field and will update automatically.
Ctrl + ; shortcut inserts the today date in a cell. Ctrl + Shift + ; shortcut inserts the current time. To enter the current date and time, press Ctrl + ; then press the Space key, and then Ctrl + Shift + ;.
Open the Access report or form in Design view or Layout view. On the Design tab, in the Header / Footer group, click Date and Time. The Date and Time dialog box appears. Clear the Include Date check box if you do not want to include the date.
Create a Form Place the text cursor where you want to insert the form field. Click the Developer tab on the ribbon. Click the Design Mode button in the controls group. Click a Content Control buttons to insert the selected type of control. When youre done, click the Design Mode button again to exit Design Mode.
On an Access form, use the Date Picker to enter the current date. If the field is set up as a Date/Time field, the Date Picker icon appears when you click in the field. Click the icon, and then click the Today button below the calendar.
On a worksheet, select the cell into which you want to insert the current date or time. Do one of the following: To insert the current date, press Ctrl+; (semi-colon). To insert the current time, press Ctrl+Shift+; (semi-colon).
