To add documents to a project, enter a project name and click create. You can add documents by selecting "add documents" from the main document menu or by creating an external reference for large video files. Documents can be in PDF, RTF, DOC, or image format. Open the documents in the project Explorer on the left by double-clicking them. Paragraph numbers are displayed on the left side for text documents. More import options are available under the main document menu for adding survey data, literature review documents, or tweets from Twitter.

Turn off overtype mode: Click File Options. Click Advanced. Under Editing options, clear both the Use the Insert key to control overtype mode and the Use overtype mode check boxes.
If it is one of those keys, it can be disabled in System Preferences - Keyboard - Modifier Keys - [The key you want] - No Action.
MacBooks dont have an insert key. In fact, no Apple keyboard has one. And macOS doesnt natively support one.
