okay so first of all this is the document that I have been working on in the previous videos and in this video Im going to show you how to make cross references in Word so Im going to go to references and then cross reference and then Im going to select figure and Im going to select only label and number and then insert and close and you can see it has inserted the label figure one and if I hold down ctrl and click on it it will take me to figure 1 in the document and I can also put this in brackets if I want to or I can manually edit this to say fig dot 1 and then if I hold down ctrl and click on it it will still take me to figure 1 in the document so I can change this to say whatever I want now another way of doing this is to go to insert and select cross reference here instead and then there are a number of other options for the reference type and also for the text to insert I am just going to show a couple more examples of this so if I select above slash below and then insert

Go to the Insert tab, click on Symbol on the far right, click More Symbols, and change the font to Wingdings in the box that pops up. Then, scroll down to the bottom and choose the tick or cross symbol that you prefer. Finally, hit Insert.

This puts a box around the selected character or check mark. Click outside the box to return to the document.

Click in the document where you want to insert a character or symbol. Symbol. Choose a symbol type or a character set from the Set list box. Choose a symbol from the Symbols list.
At the bottom of the palette is the More button. Click this button to open the Symbols dialog box (see Figure 1) where you can browse through and select from over 1,500 special characters, symbols and foreign language alphabets in 15 different character sets.
All you need to do is hold down the Alt key as you type that character code. When you release the Alt key, Word inserts the symbol in the document. Another approach is to simply type the four Unicode characters and then press Alt+X, which converts the character code to the symbol.
Select the text that you want to format. Go to Home Strikethrough.
Special characters like em dashes or section marks () Go to Insert Symbol More Symbols. Go to Special Characters. Double-click the character that you want to insert.
