The IF function in Excel performs a logical comparison between two values. The result of the IF function is either TRUE or FALSE. For example, we can test if the value in cell B2 is greater than the value in cell A2. If so, the result is TRUE, if not, the result is FALSE.
Instead of using single quotes and double quotes, we are going to use only double quotes. In this case, if you need to insert a string value (firstname, lastname) you can use double quotes three times. This way, we are sure that there is no conflict between quotes.
The INSERT( ) function inserts specified characters or spaces into a character string, beginning at a specified position in the string.
The AND Function in excel is a logical function that tests multiple conditions and returns true or false depending on whether they are met or not. The formula of AND function is =AND(logical1,[logical2]), where logical1 is the first condition to evaluate.
Go to the Formulas ribbon choose either the Insert Function icon to bring up the Insert Function dialog box (same dialog box you would get with the first method), or click the arrow next to the correct category in the Function Library Group, and then choose the desired function.
On the worksheet, click the cell in which you want to enter the formula. Type the = (equal sign) followed by the constants and operators (up to 8192 characters) that you want to use in the calculation. For our example, type =1+1.
If the Insert Options button isnt visible, then go to File Options Advanced in the Cut, copy and paste group, check the Show Insert Options buttons option.
