in this video im going to show you how to add a check mark symbol to your spreadsheet in google sheets so sometimes when you are working with google sheets you may want to create check lists and have check marks in your spreadsheets well theres not a good built-in way to add a check mark symbol to your spreadsheet but theres a few different things we can do using certain methods to get a check mark in your spreadsheet so im going to show my favorite ways three different ways to add a check mark to your spreadsheet so the first method which i think is the easiest is just to use a check box so to add a check box to your spreadsheet first you click on the cell where you want to add the check box and then you select insert and then you will see the check box option here now you can also highlight multiple cells if you want to do multiple in one go so i highlighted multiple cells insert check box now the benefit of having a check box is that you can toggle it between checked and uncheck

Go to the Insert tab Symbols group, and click Symbol. In the Symbol dialog box, on the Symbols tab, click the drop-down arrow next to the Font box, and select Wingdings. A couple of checkmark and cross symbols can be found at the bottom of the list. Select the symbol of your choosing, and click Insert.
If you have a separate number pad on your keyboard, be sure to activate the num lock. While holding the Alt key on your keyboard, type in 251 and release the Alt button to enter the check symbol in the place where you have the cursor.
Step 2: Go to the home tab and then select the font group. Change it to wingdings. Step 3: Now press and hold the Alt key while you type the character code on your numeric keypad. The character code for the check mark symbol is Alt + 0252.
Insert a check mark symbol In your file, place the cursor where you want to insert the symbol. Open the Symbol dialog box: In the Font box, select Wingdings. In the Character code box at the bottom, enter: 252. Select the check mark you want. Once the check mark has been inserted, you may change its size or color.
