In this video Id like to show you how to insert a symbol in Microsoft Word. And this can be pretty useful when youre looking for a character, a graphic, or some type of image that isnt available on the keyboard. So let me show you what I mean. If I go to, actually first lets dial up this font so its easier for you to see, if I go to Insert and then Symbol notice first of all that I have a lot of symbols, some of these Ive used recently, some I have not. But they give me a lot of symbols here. Im going to go ahead and go to More Symbols. And then here we have a whole bunch of different symbols we can use. I like to use the mathematical operators for some of the work I do. Where just to show you briefly here, notice here theres a less than or equal sign, greater than equal sign, these arent symbols that I cant get from my keyboard. I cant get that equal part of the less than sign. So if I like a symbol, I want to select it, click Insert, and there you go. so heres my le

Inserting text is the ability to place your cursor (with your mouse or arrow keys) at any location in your document and begin typing. The insert text function allows you to add characters to your document without overwriting the work you have previously done.
Special characters like em dashes or section marks (§) Go to Insert > Symbol > More Symbols. Go to Special Characters. Double-click the character that you want to insert.
Creating the "Section" Symbol (§) in WordPerfect Documents Click on the menu option Insert. On the drop-down menu, click on the menu option Symbol. In the Set section of the Symbol screen choose the Typographic Symbols and a list of symbols will display.
All you need to do is hold down the Alt key as you type that character code. When you release the Alt key, Word inserts the symbol in the document. Another approach is to simply type the four Unicode characters and then press Alt+X, which converts the character code to the symbol.

To insert selected text from another document Select the text you want to insert. 2.
