hi this is andrew thanks for joining me todays video covers uh installation and use of active directory certificate services were going to install it in an active directory domain so that the members of the domain the computers and system and devices on the domain can actually get certificates and use them and be trusted within the domain so first thing we have three computers here uh in a real environment a lot of these would be on separate systems but in this environment we have a domain controller we have a server and in the background here this is a windows 10 computer that were not going to use until we get much closer to the end so ill set that aside so domain controller here and all of these computers obviously the domain controller is but the other computers are members of the domain so the server is a member server if i go into computers thats this server here and theres the desktop which is a also a domain member right now theyre just all in the default containers so

In order to import the certificate you need to access it from the Microsoft Management Console (MMC). Open the MMC (Start Run MMC). Go to File Add / Remove Snap In. Double Click Certificates. Select Computer Account. Select Local Computer Finish. Click OK to exit the Snap-In window.
Import the certificate into the local computer store In the Open box, type mmc, and then select OK. On the File menu, select Add/Remove snap-in. In the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box, select Add. In the Add Standalone Snap-in dialog box, select Certificates, and then select Add.
Right-click the GPO, and then click Edit. In the console tree, open Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Public Key Policies, right-click Trusted Root Certification Authorities, and then click Import. On the Welcome to the Certificate Import Wizard page, click Next.
Under and Manage SSL for your site (HTTPS), click Manage SSL Sites. Scroll down to the an SSL Website and click Browse Certificates. Select the certificate that you want to activate and click Use Certificate. This will auto-fill the fields for the certificate.
In the GPO Editor, go to the section Computer Configuration Policies Windows Settings Security Settings Public Key Policies Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Right-click in the right part of the GPO editor window and select Import.
Import the certificate into the local computer store In the Open box, type mmc, and then select OK. On the File menu, select Add/Remove snap-in. In the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box, select Add. In the Add Standalone Snap-in dialog box, select Certificates, and then select Add.
In the Websites and Domains section for the domain name you want to use, click SSL/TLS Certificates. Click Add SSL Certificate. Enter a Certificate name, complete the fields in the Settings section, and then click Request.
Right click the GPO policy and select Edit. Navigate to Computer configuration Policies Administrative Templates Windows Components Windows Update. Select Allow signed content from intranet Microsoft update service location and click Edit policy settings. Select Enabled and click OK.
