A letter of recommendation for medical school should fill at least one entire page (usually 400 600 words) and contain an introduction, up to 4 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. If the letter is being submitted by mail or fax, it should also include a standard letterhead.
How do I add a letter after my application has been submitted? To add additional letters of evaluation, log back into your AMCAS application and select the Letters of Evaluation tab. You can add more letters only if you have not already entered 10 letters.
Most medical schools require that letters of evaluation be submitted on letterhead and bear the authors signature.
The LoR Author maintains the right to upload a new version of the LoR. LoRs can be imported at any time during the season regardless of whether the MyERAS application has been certified and submitted.
You can upload letters electronically via the AMCAS Letter Writer Application, or Interfolio . Letters sent through Interfolio can take up to 3 business days to be marked as received within the AMCAS application. Letters uploaded through the AMCAS Letter Writer Application are immediately marked as received.
After you submit your AMCAS, you can add new letters of recommendation to your application if you have not yet submitted 10 letters. Navigate to the Letters of Evaluation tab, then the Medical School section. Click edit and add the new letter you want to send.
Most schools provide a letter storage service via their career center or similar resources. There are also online letter-holding services like Interfolios Dossier that you may use to store letters for multiple application systems.
You are not required to assign letters of evaluation to a medical school prior to submitting your AMCAS application. However, after you submit your application, letter assignments cannot be changed. So I already knew you can modify this section after submitting.
