hello Michael here with success for others and today I want to talk about the basic reasons why maintenance agreements are so critical to your business and listen to any in-home service business you know cash flow is king right I mean at the end of the day it really comes down to you know cash in our position of cash to make sure that the company is doing everything that needs to do and providing for its employees as well as providing for its customers and maintenance agreements have the biggest impact on a companys cash position then quite frankly anything else that we can offer and yet as I travel around I noticed so many service companies that do not offer or do not believe in maintenance agreement cut and maintenance agreement sales and it just kind of blows my mind and some of the excuses Ive heard are well theyre just a loss leader and you know theres no money to be made on maintenance agreements and we dont have the time in the fall and the spring to get to all of these hun

To determine heat load more accurately, the equation Q = m x Cp x T can be used where: Q = heat load (BTU/hr) m = mass flow rate (lb/hr) Cp = specific heat (BTU/lb F)
The 1.7X rule This rule of thumb states that the MAX heating capacity required for your comfort cooling application is 1.7 x the cooling load. For example, if the cooling required is 30 tons (360,000 btus), then the MAX heating capacity required would be 612,000 btus (1.7 x 360,000).
An HVAC career doesnt typically require advanced math skills. HVACR technicians do need basic math skills, like the ability to read a tape measure, calculate basic load requirements and use fractions. Those are covered in HVACR technician training, so youre prepared to enter the field.
Other Useful Formulas Total Heat (BTU/hr) = 500 x gallons per minute (GPM) x t (water) BTU/hr = 3.413 x watts = HP x 2546 = Kg Cal x 3.97. Lb. = 453.6 grams. Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) = ft. GPM = 15.85 x liters per second. CFM = 2.119 x liters per second. Wattage per Square Foot = .0926 x wattage / mass
How is HVAC capacity calculated? Divide the square footage of your house by 500. Multiply this number by 12,000 BTUs. Add to that number the additional heat generated by windows, workers or areas such as kitchens.
For a room, multiply its length by its width to get the square footage. Multiply the square footage by 20. This is the measure of the BTU cooling load of the space.
Estimating Your Ideal A/C Size Calculate the square footage of the space (building or group of rooms) you want to cool. Divide the spaces square footage by 500. Multiply the number from Step 2 and by 12,000. Add 380 Btu for each person who works in the space all day. For each window in the space, add 1,000 Btu.
